Summary
- Your workouts stay on your devices. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The developer does not collect, receive, sell or share any of your data.
- Apple Health is optional, and the app only writes finished workouts to it. It never reads your Health data.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following on your iPhone only:
- Exercises, including custom exercises you create
- Routines and their target sets
- Workouts you log: sets, weights, reps or durations, set types, and start/end times
- Your app settings (units, rest timer, notification, haptics and Apple Health preferences)
This data is not sent to the developer or any third party. Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which Apple’s terms govern.
Apple Health (optional)
If you turn on Save Workouts to Apple Health and grant permission, then each time you finish a workout the app saves to Apple Health:
- a “Traditional Strength Training” workout with its start and end time,
- the workout’s name and total working volume.
The app does not read any data from Apple Health. You can turn this off in the app’s Settings, or change permissions in the Health app (your profile → Privacy → Apps → Workouts). Workouts already saved stay in Apple Health until you delete them there; deleting a workout in the app does not remove it from Apple Health.
As Apple requires, data from HealthKit is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
Apple Watch
- Sync: during a workout, the iPhone and Apple Watch exchange workout details directly with each other using Apple’s WatchConnectivity. This doesn’t pass through any server run by the developer.
- Workout session: while a workout is active, the Watch app runs a workout session so it stays on screen and can give haptic feedback. The app itself doesn’t record or save data from that session.
- Motion (optional): with your permission, the Watch app reads wrist motion in real time during lifting sets to suggest when a set is finished. Motion data is processed on the Watch as it arrives, and is not stored or sent anywhere. You can turn off Motion & Fitness access in the Watch’s privacy settings.
Notifications and Live Activities
Rest-timer notifications are scheduled locally on your iPhone. The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island Live Activity shows your current workout using data already on your device. Neither uses a remote server.
Deleting your data
- Delete individual workouts in History, routines on the Workout tab, and custom exercises in Exercises.
- Deleting the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch permanently removes all of its data from those devices.
- Workouts saved to Apple Health are managed and deleted in the Health app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
